Syracuse Habitat for Humanity and the Women Build Team express their gratitude to the volunteers and sponsors who made this women build house a success! Because of your hard work and support, the Women Build House was completed in only 5 months!

This exciting project brings together women of all backgrounds and ability levels to plan and construct a simple and decent home for a deserving family!

The Women Build program invites women to address the problem of substandard housing and its effects on the health and well being of children. In the United States, 12 million children – one in six – live in substandard housing. Though safe, decent housing is critical to a child’s health and development, children are more likely to live in poverty than any other age group.

Syracuse Habitat for Humanity is proud to offer this opportunity for concerned women to directly address the affordable housing crisis that exists in our own community.

The Women Build project hosted by Syracuse Habitat for Humanity is scheduled to start construction of the next Women Build home on Elliot Street in mid-October, 2009! From construction help, to project support, to fundraising, to sponsorship, the Women Build Team can use the help of a few good women to make the 2009 – 2010 Women Build house a reality.

Not handy with a hammer and not sure how you can help? No worries! We can either teach you how to wield a nail gun like a pro, or we can find some other way to apply your unique talent. • Make an online donation NOW and designate your online donation to the Women Build.
• Have your business become a Women Build sponsors. Click here and someone will contact you about sponsorship possibilities.
• Solicit the help of your community by holding a fundraising event. We have lots of ideas if you need them.
• Have a Women Build Team Building Day. Assemble a team or five or six people and come build! We ask that teams make a donation of $50 per person per day. We will list your team on the Women Build Website.
