Celebrating 26 years of service in Onondaga County!
Syracuse Habitat for Humanity, Incorporated
We work in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating houses, so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which people can live and grow into all that God intended.
Veterans Build
At Syracuse Habitat for Humanity we were the first to do a Veteran’s Build in New York State. The Veterans Build will provide two specially adapted affordable homes for local veterans in need. The announcement was made on Veteran’s day 2010 during a traditional Habitat for Humanity “Ground Blessing” ceremony at 113 and 115 Fitch Street in Syracuse’s Near Westside where the builds are currently taking place.
National Grid’s Veterans Employee Resource Group (VERG) has made a commitment to the Veteran’s Build project. VERG which was formed about a year ago is dedicated to providing an essential resource for company employees who are military veterans and to actively plan and participate in community events honoring veterans.
Major sponsors for the event include Carrier Corporation, Reller Risk Managment, National Grid, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Cny Mortgage Brokers Association, and Price Chopper.
We still have $43,000 to raise in funds to be able to purchase the necessary materials to complete these two houses...
